In the US? In Canada? Cross-border?
I’ve been trying to ignore it but it won’t go away

Want to resolve it?
I’m willing to accept the consequences of ignoring this problem although I may not understand what they are

BUT I don’t want to go to court!

2. Creating or supporting practices related to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, e.g.

  • Drafting privacy statements
  • Training management and employees in privacy issues and practices
  • Auditing compliance with applicable privacy rules
  • Advising on cross-border data flows
  • Creating privacy policies and practices and related manuals

Does your company collect, use, store, disclose or process personal information of residents of Canada? Of the US? Of the EU?
Do I need to care?

Are you in compliance with all applicable privacy rules?
Are they going to hurt us if we aren’t?

How recently have you revised your Privacy Policy?
Within the last 12 months
Not within the last 12 months

Does your Privacy Notice reflect your company’s actual practices?
Not really
Isn’t that the same as our Privacy Policy?

We know what the law requires us to do if our security system is breached and the personal information we hold is compromised.
Not worried – won’t happen

3.  Business services including

  • Drafting terms of service, EULAs
  • Consulting on records retention and disaster recovery policies and practices
  • Drafting policies and implementation manuals
• Policies and procedures
• Manuals and handbooks
• Document organization and management
• Asset inventory

AND those other projects that just won’t take care of themselves!
